Canadia Bank and Smart Axiata on April 8 announced SmartPay, a payment service that enables customers to purchase goods and services through a virtual MasterCard. The event was attended by Dr Chhuon Dara, secretary of state at the Commerce Ministry, and company officials from Canadia Bank and Smart Axiata.

More consumers will be able to enjoy efficient and secure ways to make fast online purchases for goods and services with the Canadia Bank MasterCard, through the Smart network. While a significantly high number of Cambodians today have a banking relationship, consumers are not required to have a bank account in order to enjoy the benefits of SmartPay.

Registering for SmartPay requires no complicated application forms, the partners say. Everything can be done through your mobile device. Smart offers all customers who register for SmartPay before April 30 zero monthly charges until July 31 and 50 per cent discount on transaction fees until April 30. Photos by Hong Menea
