After gaining support from Cambodian fans, commercial representatives at the Thailand Embassy in Phnom Penh arranged the third Thai Film Festival at Major Platinum Cineplex next to Aeon Sek Sok City on September 13.
On the opening day, Sorm Sokun, secretary of state at Ministry of Cults and Fine Arts of Cambodia, and his Excellency Panyarak Poolthup, the Thai Ambassador to Cambodia, along with many Cambodian and Thais actors and actresses, attended the event.
Chivavuth Sovanna Ath, general commercial counselor at the Thailand Embassy in Phnom Penh, said that, “the third Thai Film Festival was arranged to enhance cooperation in the film industry between Thailand and Cambodia.”
Four Thai films were shown for free at Major Platinum Cineplex at Aeon Sen Sok City; Memories of New Year, Premika Parab, Premika Parab and Som Pak Sian (Isan Love Story). The cinema hosted 266 people per showing. Photos by Hong Menea
