Gov’t promotes online tax registration

The General Department of Taxation on Tuesday urged businesses to register through the department’s new online registration system.

Speaking to close to 1,000 businesspeople at a conference in Phnom Penh, director-general at the tax department, Kong Vibol, said the new system was designed to increase collection efficiency and transparency in the government revenue collection body.

According to state-run media agency AKP, the tax department has collected more than $1 billion in revenues this year.
