Impulse robbery proves veteran crook’s undoing

A reputed bad seed in Siem Reap’s Banteay Srey district fell victim to a citizen’s arrest on Tuesday. Police said the suspect was roaming the village when he decided to pop into a local’s home and snatch his phone.

The victim saw him, however, and called for help, drawing an army of obliging villagers who grabbed the suspect. Under questioning, the suspect reportedly confessed not only to the theft of the phone, but also to stealing a moto and selling it last April. KAMPUCHEA THMEY
