Public Diplomacy Officer and Executive Assistant to the Ambassador

 
The Australian Embassy in Phnom Penh invites applications for the position of Public Diplomacy Officer and Executive Assistant to the Ambassador.The terms of employment will be in accordance with the Phnom Penh-based Locally Engaged Terms and Conditions of Employment. Employment will be offered on a contract basis, for an initial period of one year with a possible extension. An additional salary component may apply depending on the skills/qualifications of the successful candidate. Continued employment is subject to successful completion of a three month probation period.
 
Job Description
 
The Public Diplomacy Officer and Executive Assistant to the Ambassador supports the Ambassador through management of the Ambassador’s schedule, travel, contacts and administration, including the coordination between the Ambassador and attached agencies. The position also supports the First Secretary (Political) to plan and implement the Embassy’s public diplomacy agenda.
 
Qualifications Required
 
1- Demonstrated prior experience and success in an event management role in government or non-government organisations, including all aspects of planning, budget management and event delivery.
2- Understanding of the Australian Government public diplomacy policies, priorities and guidelines.
3- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem solving skills, with a proven track record of effective stakeholder management skills.
4- Proven organisational skills and ability to work independently and as a team member to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
5- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
6- Proven capacity to adapt to and implement change, demonstrating innovative approaches, courage and resilience.
 
Security designated position
 
This position is a Designated Security Assessment Position. The occupant will need to obtain and maintain an Australian security clearance. Applicants must be Australian Citizens to satisfy security requirements.
