A ‘garden’ of one million origami hearts is taking shape within the Angkor Wat complex, as seen in images published by the Siem Reap Provincial Administration on April 9.

The project is an attempt to achieve the Guinness World Record for the largest display of origami hearts – smashing the British record of 53,704 set in 2019 – with individual pieces collected from all over the country, in what officials have hailed as a sign of solidarity.

The results of an official count will be announced on April 11.
