THE ORIGINAL QUEEN OF COOL, PAN SIMILA RETURNS FOR An ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF CAMBODIA’S COOLEST COLUMN

Rollerblades

You may have thought that winter clothes have no place in a Cambodian’s wardrobe. You might be right, but you will also be surprised to spot jackets and scarves hanging in the vendors’ booths at various markets and malls, as winter fashion has become trendy for some Cambodian people who show off this overdressed style from November to February when cool breezes start to blow in the country. If you don’t think you can bear to wear a bulky outfit and spend your day sweating through your clothes, you don’t have to give up the winter wonderland dream altogether. Just get yourself a light jacket, thin scarf, and leggings. You’ll feel super cool even if you are a little too hot.

Winter fashion

You may have thought that winter clothes have no place in a Cambodian’s wardrobe. You might be right, but you will also be surprised to spot jackets and scarves hanging in the vendors’ booths at various markets and malls, as winter fashion has become trendy for some Cambodian people who show off this overdressed style from November to February when cool breezes start to blow in the country. If you don’t think you can bear to wear a bulky outfit and spend your day sweating through your clothes, you don’t have to give up the winter wonderland dream altogether. Just get yourself a light jacket, thin scarf, and leggings. You’ll feel super cool even if you are still little too hot.

Temporary Tatoo

Want to give your skin a touch of style? The thought of getting a tattoo usually comes with thoughts of trembling with fear in you chair as tiny, shiny needles poke through your skin, but it doesn’t have to! Before you get anything permanent, you can try out a fake tattoo for only a dollar each. You can choose the colour and style so that your design is so personalised that you might feel like you have the real thing. You can finally express yourself on your skin without worrying about immediate pain or long term regret. It will take you less than a minute to apply the picture and about the same to take it off. Frankly, it couldn’t be easier.

Action romantic comedy

When you want to watch much anticipated action movie, chances are you would opt for a theatre if you had a choice. While home videos are nothing new in themselves, I wanted to remind you of exactly how cool they can be. First off, there’s no need to decide which type of movie you are getting because you will almost certainly be in a new mood tomorrow that demands a different choice. We know that two hours watching a move at home can also seem like a long time, but turn on the English subtitles, kick back and relax. I could recommend a movie like Plan B, from Korea, or Forensic Hero, from China, which are best described as action romantic comedies. Just make sure the movie has subtitles in a language you understand, then sit back and enjoy an evening at the movies, at your house.

Karaoke

Are you stressed out after work most days? We all are, and it seems like exercise is the last think I want to do after a hard day of work. You’ve probably thought to yourself: “If only there were a way to boost my fun level and fitness at the same time.” Well, guess what… there is! Karaoke gets everyone dancing and singing, and besides the cardio fitness boost, singing has been shown to boost your level of serotonin and enhance your physical and emotional well being. Embrace your inner pop star next time you sing karaoke and your stresses and fears will melt away. It can help you prolong your life, give you a chance to express how you feel about love. Three to 5 bucks isn’t bad, considering the alternative is not singing Karaoke, which is a fate that no one wants to face.
