Solution from Meth Sothana: a successful group business

5 Meth Sothana

Meth Rothana runs Funny House, which sells milk green tea. She offered advice to David, who had his dish soap business fail after he and his partner disagreed too often.

Rothana said that it is very important to select a business partner who you can work with well.

“Before starting out with someone to build a business, we must study and know the characteristics of our partners, and if they can stay with us to face the obstacles in business. What is most important is that they are honest and patient.”

Rothana said that because David didn’t deeply study his partner, it caused both of them trouble.

“Before I start joining businesses with my friends, we must know each other’s backgrounds clearly. In particular, we are honest and patient before we start, and we never cheat our colleagues.”

Rothana clarified that solidarity is very important for business partners, because if we don’t stand together, our business will also fail. And then the dishes on the cupboard will hit one another.

Before making a decision, effective partners always consult each other and discuss strategies. If someone has a request or wants to do something, they must always engage in discussions to reach acceptable solutions that everyone will like. In order to be successful and improve the business, they must take on different duties and do what is good for the business as a whole.

Rothana’s tips are very important for David’s future success. Although David has just failed in a business and seemed a bit hopeless, he still didn’t give it up. He recently got a new job at a company in Phnom Penh.
