Sultan of Brunei plans state visit at end of ASEAN Summit

At the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni, Bruneian Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah will pay a state visit to Cambodia on November 14.

In a November 7 press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said that during the visit, King Sihamoni and the Sultan will meet at the Royal Palace.

“The Sultan and Prime Minister Hun Sen will have a meeting at the Peace Palace on November 14 and then will preside over the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two governments on bilateral consultations,” the press release read.

The Sultan will also lay wreaths at Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk in honour of the 100th anniversary since his birth and 10th anniversary since his passing.

The visit takes place as the two countries celebrate their 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
