Authorities in the capital's Daun Penh district on August 13 raided a valleyball venue where people gathered in violation of Covid-19 measures, detaining 32 people.
District governor Sok Penh Vuth told The Post that the place also ran illegal gambling.
“It has been completely shut down, while the 32 people were tested for Covid-19 and sent to a quarantine centre. After completing their quarantine, they will be sent to court,” he said.
Phnom Penh will remain under Covid-19 restrictions until August 26, during which all businesses deemed as posing high risks including sport venues are suspended. Gathering of more than 15 people are also banned.
