The Ministry of Commerce's General Directorate of Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression (CCF) raided a house in Cham Chao II commune in Phnom Penh's Por Sen Chey district on June 24, confiscating more than 7,000 lires of counterfeit methanol.

CCF said on June 25 that the crackdown was coordinated by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court prosecutor and in cooperation with the local authorities.

The CCF's preliminary tests found that 4,030 litres were methanol, and the other 3,120 litres were methanol blended with water. It will do another laboratory test to confirm the finding before proceeding with the case.
