Arrest over minor’s rape

POLICE in Kandal’s Sa’ang district arrested a 30-year-old man on Sunday on suspicion of raping a 12-year-old girl. District police chief Maing Pich said the man allegedly raped the girl when he was drunk, as she stayed alone at her home. He was arrested at the scene. Rong Sreymuch, who is in charge of women’s affairs at the Kandal branch of rights group Adhoc, said the girl was still “suffering” and  should not have been left at home alone.
