Two men and a woman were arrested and charged with arson on Tuesday in connection with a fire that destroyed four homes in Banteay Meanchey province’s Poipet town on Saturday. Chief provincial prosecutor Van Phannaroth said the suspects, Yen Sokea, Pich Vuoch Lim, and Bun Mao, would be tried following a two-week investigation. Poipet town police chief Om Sophal said the fire had begun after one of the three workers dropped a container of gas during a delivery. The victims whose houses were destroyed in the fire filed a joint complaint with authorities last Sunday, demanding US$11,000 in compensation.
