The United States has pledged US$1.5 million to the UN side of the Khmer Rouge tribunal in the wake of its first trial, which began Tuesday.
John Johnson, spokesman for the US embassy, said that the US was satisfied with the judicial process of the hybrid court but that it would continue to work with it to “address administrative reforms” including the issue of corruption allegations.
