The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the World Bank announced Tuesday an agreement that pledged US$13 million to strengthen food security in the Kingdom in the wake of global food and economic crises and rising commodity prices. The plan calls for improved oversight and regulations of agricultural inputs in order to increase productivity, and includes plans to make it easier for farmers to access lines of credit and new marketing opportunities, according to a press statement.
