Cambodia hosts 23rd ASEAN OSHNET meetings

The 23rd meeting of the coordinating committee of the ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network or OSHNET and the 4th ASEAN OSHNET Awards Ceremony was held with the participation of all 10 ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretary-General and the Secretary-General of ASEAN-OSHNET.

The meeting was hosted by Myanmar virtually on September 29-30. The goal of the meeting was to share experiences, information, achievements and challenging problems in the work of implementing occupational safety and health in ASEAN countries.

Director of the Occupational Health and Safety Department Leng Tong led civil servants from the department to attend the meeting where they agreed on an action plan that ASEAN-OSHNET member countries are preparing regarding occupational safety and health.

The Ministry of Labour said that Cambodia was set to host workshops and compile documents on occupational safety and health practices in small and medium enterprises and informal economic workplaces in ASEAN countries on October 17-18. The meeting of occupational safety and health inspectors in the workplace is set to take place on December 7.

Cambodia was awarded ASEAN-OSHNET awards by Olive Apparel Cambodia Co Ltd and Marvel Garment Co Ltd.
