BANGKOK,Thailand (AP) - Cambodia has rejoined other Indochinese nations in a new
cooperative effort to develop the mighty Mekong river, reports from Hanoi seen Feb.

The Vietnam news agency said a joint communique was signed Friday in Hanoi, the Vietnamese
capital, by officials of Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.
The communique paves the way towards a formal treaty among the riparian nations and
an institution which would deal with the river's problems and potential.
