Deputy Prime Minister Sok An on Friday presented Gilda Lopez, Cuba’s ambassador to Cambodia, with the Royal Order of Monisaraphon for her efforts to raise the international profile of Cambodian culture, officials said Sunday. “The Cuban ambassador has been honoured with the Monisaraphon medal for her effort in helping explain Cambodian culture to the international [community],” said Kim Sang Vath, deputy director general at the Council of Ministers. He added that Cuba had also supported Cambodia’s successful bid to have Preah Vihear temple listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
