Eight people were arrested on charges of drug trafficking by police in Banteay Meanchey province’s Poipet town on Saturday night. Poipet town police chief Om Sophal said that the eight suspects, seven males and one woman, were believed to be residents of Battambang town. “Police seized 12 packages of ice and one package of yama, as well as drug paraphernalia,” said Om Sophal. “It took two days to collect enough evidence to arrest the accused. The current investigation is ongoing and we are attempting to track down more suspects.”
