The Japanese embassy on September 3 publicly introduced four individuals in Cambodia who will receive letters of commendation from Japanese foreign minister Toshimitsu Motegi for their contribution to fostering good relations between the two countries.

According to the embassy's press statement, Motegi on August 20 also announced the names of individuals and groups who will receive commendations for their outstanding achievements in foreign affairs and the advancement of friendship between Japan and their respective country.

In Cambodia, three recipients – Nao Thuok, secretary of state at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Yamada Yoshitaka, an adviser to the Cambodian government; and Otani Kenji, president of the Cambodia Mines-Remove Campaign – have been acknowledged for promoting mutual understanding between Japan and Cambodia.

The fourth – Pride of Asia Preah Vihear Association Japan representative Morita Noritada – has gained commendation for his contribution to promoting economic relations between Japan and Cambodia.

According to the embassy, an awarding ceremony will be organised in due course.

“The Embassy of Japan would like to express its gratitude to all recipients who have contributed to the promotion of friendly relations between Japan and Cambodia, and we look forward to their continued success,” it said.
