The Preah Sihanouk Provincial Administration said 267 people in the province tested positive for Covid-19 on May 21 alone.

According to its public revelation of the new patients' identities, nearly all of them are factory workers at Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and another SEZ in the province, both in Prey Nop district.

This represented a significant increase compared to only eight cases detected on May 20.

The administration urged those who had been in contact with them to immediately report to the authorities and have their specimens collected for testing and to self-quarantine for 14 days.

Provincial administration spokesman Kheang Phearum told The Post on May 22 that his province had so far recorded a total of 3,015 cases, with 777 receiving ongoing treatment and 12 fatalities.
