The number of people who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Cambodia has surpassed three million, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced late on June 14.

The Post reported earlier that the Kingdom would have inoculated three million towards its target of 10 million in the next few days.

In a Facebook post on the night of June 14, Hun Sen also identified the three millionth, a 48-year-old widow residing in Chey Chumneas Hospital in Kandal province.

"We have reached a significant milestone with 30 per cent of the targeted 10 million vaccinated. This is a great achievement towards our goal," he said.

The three millionth person to have received the jab, Sou Samoeun, will be awarded 10 million riel ($2,500).

Ministry of Health spokeswoman Or Vandine is expected to present the award to her on June 15.
