Prime Minister Hun Sen will attend an ASEAN summit in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on April 24, therefore opting to reschedule his Covid-19 vaccination with a second dose from April 29 to 20.

In a Facebook post on April 16, the prime minister did not elaborate on the meeting, saying only that it was a task he could not skip as the leader of an ASEAN member state.

But according to the Jakarta Post, the leaders of the 10-nation bloc are widely expected to discuss the ongoing crisis in Myanmar, which has claimed more than 700 lives since the February military coup.

Hun Sen said he would have his samples taken for Covid-19 testing on April 23. Upon arrival in Jakarta and prior to the summit, the prime minister will take a second test administered by the Indonesian health authority.

On his return, he will undergo between two and three more Covid-19 tests and self-quarantine at his residence for 14 days.
