The Indian government will provide study materials and training courses to Preah Sihanouk Raja Buddhist University in Phnom Penh for the establishment of an information technology centre there.

The assistance was pledged on October 4 through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by vice-rector Khy Sovanratana and Indian ambassador to Cambodia Devyani Khobragade.

The centre will provide IT training courses to students there.

In a press statement on October 5, the embassy said the initiative was part of the Indian government’s Quick Impact Project (QIP) within the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC) framework.

The QIP supports 10 projects in Cambodia, with $500,000 in funding provided each year.
