KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) - Khan Hoi Glass Factory of Vietnam and Malaya Glass
will set up a U.S. $22.4 million glass manufacturing factory in Vietnam, officials
said Jan. 22.
The Malaysian company will own 70 percent and the Vietnamese government 30 percent
of the plant near Ho Chi Minh City that will produce 50,000 tons of glass containers
annually, Commerce International Bankers Ltd. said in a statement.
The glass manufactured by the joint venture called Malaya-Vietnam Glass will be sold
in Vietnam as well as exported.
