Kampong Cham has now joined other provinces to wrap up its Covid-19 vaccination campaign, but in a bid to prevent another outbreak the provincial administration will extend restrictions for another week.

In a notice dated September 10, it said residents who missed their shots can still get them at any of the nine provincial referral hospitals from September 19.

In the meantime, the province will see Covid-19 restrictions extended through September 16.

Provincial governor Un Chanda said the extension was meant to ensure the effectiveness of the ongoing fight against Covid-19, especially the Delta variant.

Chanda instructed all district governors to enforce the temporary ban on entertainment-related businesses and all gatherings including religious events. All markets and food stalls have to cease operations from 9pm to 3am.

All businesses and occupations exempted from the ban must strictly follow health measures.

Chanda told district authorities to immediately shut any location, home or village where Covid-19, especially Delta, has been detected and to trace the source of infection in order to prevent an outbreak.
