King Norodom Sihamoni will depart to Beijing today for a health check, Royal Palace Cabinet member Oum Daravuth confirmed Sunday. “He normally goes for a health check every six months,” he said, adding that the King would continue on to France after leaving China. Oum Daravuth could not confirm how much time the King would spend in either country, but said that he would visit France’s Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres to collect an honorary degree in archaeological and historical research.
