King Norodom Sihamoni donated US$10,000 to the Jayvarman VII hospital in Siem Reap late last week during the inauguration of a new operating theatre for heart disease and a 200-bed general patient ward. During the inauguration the King praised the contribution the public children’s hospital had made to the wellbeing and health education of young people in Cambodia. Dr Beat Richner, the founder of the hospital, put the cost of the new facilities at about $7 million.
