Two farmers were seriously injured by a landmine yesterday morning in Banteay Meanchey province’s Poipet town, according to the Cambodian Mine Action Center.

Im Oun, 48, lost his arms and was seriously wounded in his abdomen, and Chin Choeun, 21, was wounded in his right hip, said Seam Hak, deputy manager of CMAC’s De-mining Unit 1.

The two men were sent to the provincial hospital.

Im Oun found the mine in his rice field and allegedly played with it before it exploded.
