A major in the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and his girlfriend were charged with drug trafficking offences in Preah Sihanouk province on Saturday. Provincial Deputy Police Chief Chor Heng said that Major Eng Sopharoath, 26, and his 23-year-old girlfriend were arrested on Thursday while driving in Mittapheap district’s Mittapheap commune. Police confiscated Eng Sopharoath’s car along with 0.6 grammes of yama pills. The pair have been sent to court for trial.
