Malaysian PM to visit Cambodia on Feb 24

Malaysian Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob will pay an official visit to Cambodia on February 24.

This is according to a press statement on the minutes of the Council of Ministers session on February 4.

“The Royal Government of Cambodia will welcome [Ismail Sabri], who will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia on February 24,” the statement said.

In a January 25 phone call, Prime Minister Hun Sen and Ismail Sabri discussed bilateral relations and on the ongoing Myanmar crises.

During the conversation, Hun Sen invited his Malaysian counterpart to visit the Kingdom ahead of the ASEAN summit, which Cambodia is to host as the bloc's chair.

The two countries also celebrate their 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
