A 32-YEAR-OLD man working at a Phnom Penh orphanage has been released from jail after paying US$1,500 compensation to a woman he allegedly attempted to rape in a massage parlour on Saturday. Veal Vong commune police chief, Prach Sorphornna, in Prampi Makara district, said yesterday that the man was arrested after being held by women at the parlour who heard the victim shout for help. “He bought drugs and ... during the massage he attempted to grab the masseuse and rape her,” he said. The woman withdrew her complaint after receiving the compensation.
