Four suspects were sent to Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Sunday for allegedly stealing money from a customer who had visited their massage parlour for a cupping session last Friday in Anlong Kgnan village, in Sen Sok district’s Khmuonh commune.
District police chief Hour Meng Vang said the four suspects – three women and a man – ran the massage shop together.
The three women were identified as Tuy Strey, 24; Sa Sreya, 29, and Nheb Mao, 39. The male suspect was Nheb Vanny, 24.
Kmuonh commune police chief Nhean Norn told The Post on Sunday that the victim, Sorn Chamroeun, 31, who is from Por Sen Chey district, visited the massage parlour last Friday.
He was instructed to change his clothes and hang them up while he lay down for a cupping session.
Norn said that while the victim was receiving his massage, the suspects exchanged $1,400 from his wallet with $1,400 in fake banknotes.
After the session was over, Chamroeun took the money from his wallet to pay but noticed it felt thin. He asked the suspects if they had changed his money, but they denied it.
Norn said: “The victim was unwell. He went to the cupping massage place, and he was told to take off his clothes and hang them while he lay face down. After the massage, he gave them the money but realised it was fake when he touched it,” he said.
An argument ensued, which was heard by people nearby who informed the police. Chamroeun then filed a complaint at the Khmuonh commune police station and the four suspects were called in for questioning.
While being questioned, the suspects confessed to the crime and police detained them and sent them to the Sen Sok district police station for further legal action.
