Minister of Health Mam Bun Heng told heads of the primary Covid-19 management committees in the capital and the provinces to raise awareness of the standard operating procedure (SOP) and other instructions for the treatment, care and management of Covid-19 at home, and remind residents to adhere to them.
“Your Excellencies, please help spread the word to the people widely and frequently through the media in the capital and your provinces, towns and districts in a highly effective way,” the minister said.
Bun Heng, who doubles as the head of the Inter-ministerial Committee to Combat Covid-19, on February 17 noted that his committee four days earlier had issued guidelines on strengthening the implementation of the SOP.
The Ministry of Health earlier announced that fully vaccinated Covid-19 patients who have been treated at home and test negative are allowed to return to daily activities, while those without the primary course of jabs are required to complete an additional seven days of quarantine after recovery.
Anyone who tests positive must report the result to local authorities, isolate in a clean and well ventilated location, and maintain good personal hygiene. They should practice the “three do’s and 3 don’ts” during treatment and recovery, to help prevent the spread of the virus.
The “three do’s” – also called the “three protections” – are to wear a face mask, wash hands frequently, and keep a safe distance from other people (usually defined as 1.5m), and the “three don’ts” are to avoid confined and enclosed spaces, stay away from crowded places, and refrain from touching others.
