The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications has launched a pilot app that uses artificial intelligence to produce texts from voice or audio files.

The app, known as Khmer Automatic Speech Recognition (Khmer ASR), can run on Android and iOS operating system and can automatically convert voice or audio files in the format of WAV, PM3, M4a and OGG into texts in the Khmer language.

Aimed at providing convenience in the workplace, the app can produce texts with 90 per cent accuracy, the ministry said.

The ministry encouraged government officials, civil servants, the private sectors, students and the general public to use this app to facilitate their daily work and for their feedback in order to improve the it.
