Prime Minister Hun Sen has provided another 2.3 billion riel ($565,000) to 20 provinces, some of which border Thailand and Vietnam, for them to set up and run quarantine centres for the period of April 18-24.

According to an announcement by the Ministry of Health on April 20, each province received between 20 and 300 million riel depending on the situation on the ground.

The 20 provinces included Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Pailin, Koh Kong, Pursat, Preah Vihear, Kandal, Svay Rieng, Prey Veng, Tbong Khmum, Kratie, Takeo, Kampong Cham, Kampong Chhnang, Kep, Kampong Speu, Kampong Thom, Preah Sihanouk and Siem Reap.

The ministry said a total of 20,939 people are undergoing quarantine requirement in the 20 provinces.
