In the first seven months of this year, Ministry of Environment rangers and officials from Wildlife Alliance seized more than 800 chainsaws from illegal loggers.

Those chainsaws had destroyed Cambodia's forest in the Cardamom Mountain, the last unfragmented rainforest in Southeast Asia, Wildlife Alliance said on August 6.

“Even this is a small part of the total forest destruction: last year, ranger teams confiscated 1,000 chainsaws,” it said in a Facebook post.
