Prime Minister Hun Sen sent a message to Muslims in Cambodia and around the world on the occasion of the end of Ramadan and the welcoming of the April 22 Eid al-Fitr, which signals the end of the month-long fasting period.

In a message released on the night of April 21, Hun Sen thanked Muslims in Cambodia for joining with him to protect the peace, as well as for their trust in his leadership and his party.

He also thanked them for joining the fight against Covid-19 by strictly adhering to the preventative measures and regulations that the government issued.

“Although the government had lifted all Covid-19 prevention measures, such as mandatory mask-wearing and rapid testing, I still call on all Muslims – and the followers of all religions – to continue to be vigilant and to adhere to good hygiene practices,” he concluded.
