A COMMUNE councillor from Trapaing Krasang commune, in the capital’s Dangkor district, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of possessing an illegal firearm. Trapaing Krasang commune’s police chief, Long Saran, said Im Kimhong, who represents the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, was arrested after his wife told police that he was in possession of a machine gun. “He was hiding an illegal weapon. His weapon was old, with no bullets,” he said. However, he said the gun was still in a condition to be fired.
