Alcohol-fuelled arson equals coal in stocking

A drunken lout in Poipet assured his place on Santa’s naughty list at the last minute on Tuesday, burning down his home with only hours to spare before St Nick’s arrival.

Police said the 32-year-old was so angered by the fact his wife – the family’s sole breadwinner – had not prepared him dinner, that he used a cigarette to set their home ablaze.

Despite the best efforts of locals, both his home and a neighbour’s were burned to the ground before police arrived. He’ll have to answer for both acts of destruction in court. KOH SANTEPHEAP
