Battered borrower is once beaten, twice shy

Yesterday morning a man was beaten by a crowd in the capital for previously stealing a motorbike, although he insisted the situation was one big misunderstanding.

The beaten man claimed he borrowed the motorbike to buy some water – and did just that.

However, he told police, he then encountered a third mutual acquaintance, who offered to return the moto to its rightful owner and disappeared with the bike.

Police were seemingly unconvinced, and took the man in for questioning.
