A local border jockey’s greed proved to be his downfall in Banteay Meanchey province on Monday night.

The man, who makes his living charging a fee to speed up travellers’ border crossings from Thailand to Cambodia, tried to double his fee upon arrival.

While he threatened to take his customers’ luggage – and their lives – bystanders immediately called the police, who hauled the mercenary menace down to the station.
