Capital authorities were thankful that a different pair of gates stayed closed as a drunk driver crashed his vehicle into the front of a schoolyard, taking out the fence and a tree.

No one was injured yesterday when the man lost control and veered into the doors of the Chamkarmon district academy before booking it from the scene.

When officers came later his ride was taken to the impound lot.
