A compulsive gambler convinced himself that somehow or other his employer, a police officer, wouldn’t notice he had pawned two of his cars to pay off gaming debts.
The audacious driver and betting fanatic, 34, was arrested on Saturday in Phnom Penh’s Prampi Makara district as he was trying to exchange the second vehicle for cash.
He’d swapped the first one for $8,500 but was caught in the act and arrested the second time around. The suspect confessed, the $100,000 vehicle was confiscated and he was sent to court.
