Cop’s kid suspect in capital bag snatching

A Phnom Penh police official might have had some explaining to do after his son was arrested for allegedly snatching a bag in Sen Sok district on Monday.

Police said the victim was walking down the street when the suspect snatched the bag and sped off, only to get stuck in a traffic jam just down the road.

The victim called out, fingering the suspect, and bystanders did what they do best: detained him after a light beating.

Police arrived and learned of the suspect’s parentage, but sent him to court anyway. Koh Kantepheap
