Police are hunting two armed robbers who held up a married couple on Monday evening at a Wing money transfer shop in Battambang’s Mong Russey district.

The raiders pointed a rifle and a pistol at the pair, demanded money, then attacked the husband when he boldly, if foolishly, refused to hand over the cash.

The criminals escaped into a nearby forest with more than $700. It’s unknown if the couple were there to send money or pick up dinner, as the location doubles as a dog meat shop.
