A father in Kampong Cham province took the principle of tough love too far on Sunday evening when he attacked his adult son with a machete.

Police reported that the 65-year-old flew into a parental rage at the victim for using the machete and failing to return it to its proper place.

When his 39-year-old son responded by giving him some lip, the man was unable to control his ire and used the blade to strike him on the head.

The feuding parties have since been taken to the police station and Calmette Hospital, respectively.
