Police in Phnom Penh’s Tuol Kork district on Tuesday arrested a woman, 48, accused of stealing a necklace.
Police said the woman was pretending to browse at a stall when she allegedly sneakily pocketed a gold necklace and walked away.
The jeweller 64, didn’t realise until about 20 minutes afterward, but then proceeded to chase the woman down.
As the two were arguing, another jeweller appeared with the item, saying the accused had just sold it to her for $270.
The suspect was promptly arrested and sent to court.
