Blessed are the peacemakers – well, usually – but not in Kandal this weekend.
That’s what one cop found out the hard way when he tried to intervene in a brawl at a Kien Svay district fair.
Police said a dance was ending the day’s festivities when two groups argued and began to square off.
While trying to calm the situation, the 55-year-old cop instead became the object of the combatants’ wrath and had to weather a hail of rocks tossed at his head.
Four men were ultimately arrested and the police officer went in for stitches.
