Six tree-hacking homemakers were arrested in Pursat on Saturday after building a hut in the middle of the forest to serve as temporary sanctuary while they engaged in their logging business.

Locals, who witnessed the illegal act, alerted the Veal Veng district police, who promptly arrested the sextet. However, they were freed by the police after promising to halt their activities and signing a pledge to dismantle their do-it-yourself home.
